The Snode AD80 Adjustable Dumbbells are made durable, so much so that the company provides a two-year warranty that includes dropping the dumbbells from a height of up to 32 inches. And they are durable, with the plates made of cast iron and featuring a dovetail design that locks the plates together.
The AD80 starts at 10 pounds and adjusts all the way to 80 pounds in 10-pound increments. Because a 10-pound jump may be a bit much for some people, Snode does offer magnetic weights to add to the ends of the dumbbells, for an extra cost. The magnetic adders can allow for 2.5 or 5-pound increments.
Adjusting the dumbbells is as easy as turning one knob on the side of the handle. The one knob adjusts weights on both sides of the dumbbell, making it a quick adjustment. A number indicator is visible on the adjustment knob, so you are always sure what weight you are adjusting to.
The handle is knurled and thick, at 36 millimeters wide, which will be sure to train your grip and forearms over time. The weight plates create a flat dumbbell head at any weight, which makes it easy to rest the dumbbells on your thighs before a set of benching.
These dumbbells are a little long, even for an adjustable dumbbell, at just over 18 inches long with all plates added. When being adjusted, the dumbbells rest in a durable cast iron weight cradle; you won’t have to worry about damaging these weight trays.
