Is 1st Phorm Opti Greens 50 Worth It?

If you’re looking for an extra boost of nutrients on top of an already balanced diet or if you struggle to eat enough veggies, Opti Greens 50 is a tasty way to help fill in some nutritional gaps. At $2.17 per serving, it’s a mid-range price for this type of product.

That said, the product’s health benefits likely won’t outweigh the high sticker price for many people and isn’t any better for overall health than eating more fruits, vegetables, herbs, and spices.

Experience Using Opti Greens 50

Nicole Davis, CPT, PN1-NC, and GGR head of content, tested Opti Greens 50 for us and compared it to similar products she’s tried in the past.

She followed the instructions on the package, which recommend mixing two scoops of greens powder with 8 ounces of cold water or juice. Nicole drank hers in the morning like most other customers, although we noted that some prefer to drink it before bed.

Price Per Serving

Greens powders aren’t exactly cheap, and one container of Opti Greens 50 will set you back $65, or $2.17 per serving.

Compared to similar products, this is a mid-range price, which is great if you’re interested in greens powders but can’t justify paying a premium.

Since Opti Greens 50 is neither the most expensive nor the cheapest option out there, we rated it a 3 out of 5 for price.

Formulation

Opti Greens 50 includes many whole-food sourced ingredients such as barley grass, spirulina, and kale so that you get most of the nutrients present in these foods, minus some of the dietary fiber.

Note that some ingredients, like the broccoli extract and citrus bioflavonoids, are isolated extracts.

Also included is a gut-friendly probiotic blend with 5 billion colony-forming units (CFUs). Keep in mind that the optimal dose of probiotics1 isn’t clear, as different strains differ in the health benefits they provide.

Many people love the digestive enzyme blend, claiming it has worked wonders for bloating symptoms. However, research showing that supplemental digestive enzymes like amylase and lipase help improve digestive health is lacking. It may be that the antioxidants2 or additional fluid the powder is mixed with is enough to calm bloating for some.

According to 1st Phorm, the green tea extract provides 10-15 milligrams of caffeine, less than a cup of black tea. There are no adaptogens, which may disappoint some consumers.

A major disadvantage of this product is that it’s composed of multiple proprietary blends, meaning we don’t know how much of each ingredient is present or whether they’re present in efficacious dosages.

For example, there may not be enough cinnamon bark extract in the “Glycemic Balance Blend” to have any impact on glycemic response.

Overall, Nicole gave this formulation 2 out of 5 stars.

Taste and Solubility

Opti Greens 50 tastes great, which took us by surprise for a product made from powdered leafy greens.

Nicole really enjoyed the Natural Berry flavor and rated it a 4 out of 5, saying, “It’s sweet, and surprisingly not really grassy, which is hard to achieve with a greens powder.”

It mixed almost perfectly in both water and juice with minimal grittiness, which is what we were hoping for. Pleased with the smooth consistency, Nicole gave it a 4.5 out of 5 for solubility.

Side Effects

Some people find that greens powders leave them with loose stools, bloating, or nausea. Unfortunately, these products have so many ingredients that it can be difficult to identify the culprits.

Nicole didn’t experience any of these greens powder side effects with Opti Greens 50 and noted that many customers feel it actually helps reduce bloating.

Third-Party Testing

Greens powders are dietary supplements, and as such aren’t regulated by the FDA in the United States. Third-party testing by independent labs is crucial for ensuring that supplements are free from potentially dangerous contaminants like stimulants, steroids, or heavy metals.

Opti Greens 50 is Informed Choice tested, giving customers peace of mind about its safety and earning a 5 out of 5 rating from us.

Customer Experience

1st Phorm has an A+ Better Business Bureau rating and seems to truly value its customers. Nicole noted, “Overall, it seems pretty good. They have a 110% guarantee where you can return a product no questions asked for 110% of the price (but you do have to pay shipping costs back).”

You can track your order or contact customer service through their online help center, where they offer email, chat, and phone support.

I was particularly impressed by the fact that 1st Phorm offers free access to their team of NASM-Certified Personal Trainers and Fitness Nutrition Specialists for anyone struggling to see results while using their supplements.

Ordering Opti Greens 50

You can order from the 1st Phorm website or a couple of other small online retailers. From their website, simply add the product to your virtual cart, select your delivery frequency, enter your shipping and payment information, and submit your order.

Free shipping is available when you spend $75, which may be worth it considering the cheapest option for shipping to Texas, where I live, was surprisingly steep at $13.46.

You can save a bit of money by choosing the “Subscribe & Save” option, which saves you $10 per bag on auto-deliveries.

Customer Reviews

Opti Greens 50 is available from a limited number of online retailers and the only one showing customer reviews is the 1st Phorm website, where this product is impressively rated at 4.9 stars with almost 17,000 reviews.

Customers repeatedly praise the taste of this greens powder and prefer it over other brands. Many say it has improved their bloating and helps them feel regular and energized.

It was pretty difficult to find any bad reviews of this product. Even people who don’t enjoy the taste love how it makes them feel and find that mixing it with fruit juice improves the flavor significantly.

Final Verdict of Our Opti Greens 50 Review

Opti Greens 50 is an effective, fuss-free way to add more antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals to your diet. If you can afford the price, enjoy including a greens powder as part of your wellness routine, and feel better when drinking it, this could be a good product for you.

That said, keep the following caveats in mind:

  • Not meant to replace whole fruits and vegetables in the diet
  • Not likely to offer significantly greater benefits for overall health than whole produce
  • The benefits may not outweigh the price for many people
  • It isn’t clear how much of each ingredient is present
